Olaseni A. Oyefeso (Founding Partner)

Seni, a Notary Public for Nigeria, oversees the commercial/civil litigation and Dispute Resolution practice of the firm. An astute negotiator, who trained in the art of Negotiation and Dispute Resolution at the Harvard Law School, combines Litigation with Corporate Commercial Matters. He advises clients on environmental issues, taxation, oil and gas, shipping, aviation and sundry other corporate matters.

His litigation experience cut across the entire territory of Nigeria in trial and appellate courts. He has handled numerous complex litigation matters for multinational companies, local companies and foreign corporations such as international Tobacco Company plc (formerly Phillip Morris Nigeria), Boeing Corporation U.S.A, SoceieteGenerale Pour Favouriser Le Development Du Commerce Et de L’Industrie En France, Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, and Philip Morris International.

The following positions/designations exist in the firm, as peopled by Fee Earners (lawyers) with diverse academic nay professional pedigree;

 

Senior Partners

There is presently no Fee Earner in this category in the firm

Junior Partners

There are three Fee Earners in this category in the firm. Two of these Fee Earners rose “through the ranks” having joined the firm under its previous historical existence, whilst one of these gentlemen joined the firm as an Associate Partner during its reemergence.

Associates Partners

At the moment, the firm have two Fee Earners in this category, one of whom acts as its Managing Counsel

As Managing Counsel, this Fee Earner manages the administrative affairs of the firm as assisted by the Practice Manager, a non Fee Earner

Senior Associates

This category is sub divided into the following sub-categories (moving up the ladder from III to II and then to I);

a. Senior Associate I

b. Senior Associate II

c. Senior Associate III

Fee Earners are routinely promoted within these sub-categories on merit basis after every end of year assessment by the appraisal group of the firm. This group comprise all the Junior Partners; Associate Partners including the firm’s Managing Counsel.

Recommendations are then made to the Founding Partner for final approval

Associates

The strength of the firm is hinged on the support provided by Fee Earners in this category as its capacity is often defined by the size of this cadre of its work force at every given moment.

Trainee Associates

This category of Fee Earners is peopled by Corp Members (“NYSC”) who have been called to the Nigerian Bar as well as those class of lawyers who are within the first year of their post NYSC. Promotions occur thereafter within that “first year post NYSC” to the above position of Associate.
